There are also some other features that we did not have time to see - shark tank, stingray cove, aliens of the deep, rare fish, and some others. It's a steep, spiraled climb and no elevator is available, but well worth the 90 steps. The reefs and the sealife are just astounding.Īlso, on top of the observatory, is a beautiful deck to look out. The walk down is a curved staircase, and there is a small elevator. Underwater submarine aquarium exhibit windows#
The underwater observatory is so well done and so beautiful, I could have stayed there all day! There are not seats to sit and watch, but there are ample windows to see from. We even saw some workers cleaning algae off of turtles and a scuba diver upside in a tank scraping the glass. I went back here with my girls after over 20 years of not visiting - we were not disappointed! One thing I have to comment on is the cleanliness - the grounds were neat and clean, but so was every window and tank.
Underwater submarine aquarium exhibit driver#
Coming here is convenient (if the driver is not thinking he is Lewis Hamilton) with bus number 15 and leaving with number 16.The bus stop is opposite the entrance. The park and aquarium is located to the south of Eilats Coral Beach nature reserve. It was founded in 1974 and was the first of its kind. It is the biggest public aquarium in Israel, and it hosts over 800 species. The best section is without question the shark pool, although it can be crowded at feeding times. Eilats Coral World Underwater Observatory is a public aquarium, park and conservation center located in Eilat, Israel. That said, this marine park is still well worth a visit and the ticket price of 105 shekels. The view, I want to point out, may however change from day to day. Also the waters, as seen from the underwater observatory, were according to my memory a lot clearer in 1983 and the amount of sea creatures of different kinds was greater and more colourful in those days. Many similar establishments (like those in Singapore and Shanghai) for instance have much longer and more impressive tunnels. 37 years later it must be said that this marine park is somewhat aged and Eilat seems sadly to have given away it`s former position. Back then it was ranked as second in the whole world and felt really spectacular.
